Munich "Bierseidel" Go Tournament

Results

This year's tournament was a much bigger success than anticipated. On top of about as many online registrations as we had total players last year, an unusual number of local players turned up unregistered, possibly due to the rainy weather. Our struggles to supply almost 70 players with boards, stones and clocks delayed the start of the tournament a bit, but eventually everybody was happily playing along. After this challenging confrontation with the growing popularity of the "Bierseidel" tournament, we will make sure to have plenty of reserve playing material in stock next year, so we can host even more players!

The final winner could not be determined until the very last minutes of the tournament. The top players demonstrated almost equal performance, so that one other game still running would decide about the first place, by influencing the second level opponent's score of the top rated players. In the end, the first price went to Norbert Jendrusch, a local 4d, before Peter Milczewski and Gyu Seob Yang, both from Munich as well.
