A Keith Haring sculpture in front of the Seagram Building by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Philip Johnson

The Seagram Building is one of the most pure examples of the "shoebox" modernism. Of course, this was really called the "international style", and the building isn't just a simple box either. The floor plan has the shape of a T, and the facade establishes a very refined juxtaposition of the large form and the small details.

Keith Haring is an artist who managed to transport his message with a fun presentation. The playful shapes and the stringent facade behind reinforce each others expression in an interesting way.
