Simulation of Daylight Redirection Systems

Raydirect Plug-In for Rayfront

System Requirements

Supported Plattforms

Raydirect is designed to run on all the systems supported by Rayfront . The CD-ROM includes binaries for the following platforms:

x86 (PC)   Windows NT (service pack 3 or newer)
x86 (PC)   Windows 2000
x86 (PC)   Linux (kernel 2.2/glibc 2 or newer)
Sparc   Solaris 2
Mips   Irix 6 (32 and 64 bit systems)

Raydirect is not supported for DOS based Windows systems (Windows 3.1, 95, 98, ME). You may be lucky that it works anyway on such a system, but if it breaks there, then we can't help you to fix it. We strongly recommed to upgrade to one of the current and more advanced operating systems from the list above.

Hardware Requirements

Raydirect only adds a relatively small amount of additional processing to the simulations compared to running them with Rayfront alone, and it doesn't take any extra memory. As a general rule, a faster CPU and more RAM is always better for your system.

Software Requirements

Raydirect is a plug-in module to the lighting simulation toolkit Rayfront, and requires that to be installed. It is not possible to run Raydirect alone.

Disk Space for Installation

An installation of Raydirect for all supported platforms together takes less than 10 MB of disk space, an installation for only one platform takes 5 MB or less. This is in addition to the disk space that Rayfront already occupies.

Disk Space for Simulations

Raydirect adds only minimal disk space requirements to those of Rayfront. In most cases, the increase will be less than 1 MB per variation.
